Do You Mind if We Crash Your Wedding?
We were at the Four Seasons in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, photographing the wedding of Hayley Rosenblum and Blonie Dudney.
Saturday had been, to say the least, an extravagant experience from start to finish. A black-tie affair for the ages; everyone dressed to the nines and looking impeccable! Every single element, down to the last flower placed on the tables of the reception hall, was perfect! No expense spared, no detail overlooked. But sometimes the most memorable experiences can’t be planned.
The party was still going strong, the night was drawing to a close, and the time had come for us to say our goodbye’s to bride and groom. As the bride began to turn to some of her other guests trying to congratulate and bid them farewell, I noticed a large group people filling the room who were clearly not dressed for the occasion. Sneakers, t-shirts, flat bills, tank-tops, and sunglasses began crowding around the newlyweds. Out of the crowd, Katy Perry emerged and introduced herself to the couple and said, “Do you mind if we crash your wedding?”
A few photos were snapped, and Katy led the couple to the dance floor followed by her crew. After the most memorable fifteen minutes of the night, Katy congratulated the bride and groom one last time. Then, just as quickly as they had appeared, Katy and her crew were gone.
